This year’s Ushuaïa’s opening party took place over two consecutive Saturdays, the 19th and 26th of May. Both of the parties were hosted by the workers-favourite ANTS, with massive line-ups planned for each.
We attended the second opening party on May the 26th, with Adam Beyer, Maya Jane Coles, Andrea Oliva, Hito, Francisco Allendes and Richie Hawtin behind the decks.
Throughout the night the finest sound of tech-house and techno was blasting through a massive sound system, with raw, apocalyptic visuals and a giant steel ant overlooking the stage.

The open-air venue provided everything you would expect from a world-class show including pyrotechnics, flames, confetti, cannons, lasers and huge eye-capturing LED displays.
For the first time ever, the opening party took place on the same day as the opening party of Hï Ibiza, the new state-of-the-art venue also owned by Ushuaïa Entertainment and built on the site of the former Space club. Being just across the road from Ushuaïa, it was a clever move indeed, as it allowed the club goers to head straight to Hi Ibiza after Richie Hawtin’s closing set, which finished at midnight.
