Supported by Javi Bora, Patrice Baumel, Michael Mayer and headlined by Gui Boratto live, Symmetry presents Kompakt came to Space Ibiza’s Terrace on 23/06/16. Boratto’s big tracks ‘Beautiful Life’ in 2007 and ‘No Turning Back’ in 2009 were brilliant tracks that stood the test of time and still feel as fresh today as they did then. We’ve been a fan of his ever since he broke onto the scene with those tracks, and it’s a rare occasion he plays on the White Isle, so we knew this was going to be a special night.

Patrice Baumel was warming things up nicely with some techno. The dark and small intimate terrace was perfect for this party, providing a great atmosphere with a very Spanish and South American crowd.

With a fag coolly in his mouth, Gui took to the stage. From a driving rolling techno beat, to him then him adding various synths and melodies on top, this was beautiful and melodic sexy techno.

Alongside his own material he played the likes of Shadows Movement – ID,  Roger Sanchez – Lost (Tom Novy’s Lost In Space dub), Junior C – Coming Over (Hosh remix) and Nicolai Toma’s Turn It On (Talul remix).

Smiling away, constantly twiddling and controlling nobs and filters with no headphones anywhere in sight, Gui Boratto is no ordinary dj/producer. Tonight we were watching a master at work.
