Space Ibiza closing parties are a must for any Ibiza fan as the club is considered a mecca in electronic music. Providing 5 rooms of music and an outdoor festival type stage, there were DJs in abundance. DJ Mag hosted the Main Room, Space Saturday regulars El Row were on the Sunset Terrace, plus the Premier Etage, El Salon and Terrace were full to the brim for one last party in 2015 at the world’s most awarded club.

Sponsored by Ultra, the open air stage is something we only ever see at Space opening and closing parties. Located at the back of the club in the car park, thousands gathered tonight to hear the sounds of Mykris, Camilo Franco, Erick Morillo, Luciano and Carl Cox. It was Cox’s closing set which provided our highlight of the night. Cox, dressed in a tshirt that read “2am 4am 8am” played a brilliant funky techno set, providing plenty of energy and classics. Clearly loving it, he was dancing around the DJ box whilst playing the likes of Kydus – Free Spirit, Deetron – Photon, Pedro Motta – Tubular Efct, Spencer Parker – The Look, massive Ibiza classic ATFC – Bad Habit, the wonderfully funky carnival track Henrique Pirai – Winter Time In Rio and the excellently sampled Michel Cleis & Klement Bonelli – Marvinello. Carl Cox is Mr Ibiza and he deserved the ovation he got at the end of his set from the crowd, it was one of the best we’ve seen from him, “oh yes oh yes” indeed!

Over on the Sunset Terrace El Row were bringing their colourful and crazy vibe complete with some great tech tracks, the biggest being Todd Terje – Strandbar (Joakim remix) and Marco Bailey – Wildfires (Nikola Gala remix).

In the main room, which were full of lasers and driving techno beats there were silhouettes of people’s hands in air. A great line up all night featuring the likes of Josh Wink, Tania Vulcano and Ben Klock amongst others.

In true Ibiza closing party style, it went on until midday with Carl Cox & Nic Fanciulli playing a 6 hour back to back set on the Terrace. Space Ibiza will be back as strong as ever in 2016, we were left with the following message upon leaving “Because it is not the end, the beginning of another chapter in the history of the best club in the world, thank you all, we shall see you next year, thanks Ibiza.” See you next summer Space Ibiza!
