Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics 2017

Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley performed Ibiza classics at Destino on Saturday 5th August 2017 as part of Pacha’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

For me, I love of dance music all started back in the 90s when I was around 7/8 years old when I first heard the likes of Moby, Chicane, Sasha etc. My parents loved it and so did I!

On my way to Destino I was excited for something different to my usual love for techno events.
Growing up listening to trance and house I was really looking forward to the night ahead and hearing the various classics played out by Pete and the Orchestra. As I arrived at Pacha around 9.30pm I was greeted with a press goodie bag which included a USB with old photos from Pacha over the 50 years with a few famous faces in the collection of photos.

There was also a 50th Pacha keyring and red fans which provided relief from the hot breeze in the open air venue.
I arrived just in time for Pete Tong and the 60 piece orchestra. They kicked things of with Fatboy Slim’s 1998 hit tune Right Here Right Now. It was a mixed crowd with current clubbers and 90s ravers.

There was also live performances from the likes of Jessie Ware singing Kings Of Tomorrow – Finally, which shortly followed by Pete Tong and the orchestra playing Porcelain by Moby. They finished the show with Florence And The Machine You’ve Got The Love which was a nice ending to the show.

Afterwards me and my friend headed to Destino’s basement nightclub TOX. This is a great afterparty club and is a must visit after any event at Destino!
