Just 12 months ago, Catfish & The Bottlemen played the Ibiza Rocks stage as warm up for Jake Bugg. This year, with Ibiza Rocks celebrating its 10th year on the island, they performed a headline slot. Such has been the band´s recent rise, they´ve played all over the world, and some of the biggest UK festivals, including most recently, Glastonbury. For a band only first signed in 2013, that´s impressive going.

It´s one of those first tracks which were signed, ´Pacifier´ that they play early in tonight´s set and the energetic crowd at Ibiza Rocks loved it. Lead singer Van McCann is a charasmatic young man, and he was enjoying tonight, “this is class this Ibiza, thanks very much,” he said between songs.

He then said, “this song is for everyone who bought our album when it came out, thank you”, before singing ´26´. Next they played ´Kathleen´, ´Cocoon´and ´Homesick´, all brilliant tracks with superb lyrics which turned Ibiza Rocks into a big sing song. Van McCann was clearly relishing the crowd reaction, “this is Ibiza´s finest!” He exudes confidence and reminds of a young Liam Gallagher, a confident frontman with the talent to match.

They then ended a great set on their track, ´Tyrant´. Anyone who says there are no good bands around these days need to check them out – Catfish & The Bottlemen  tonight played a set of anthemic tracks with plenty of energy which the crowd loved. Their sound is fresh, and headed by Van McCann we´re in no doubt they´ll continue to rock shows and write great music for the foreseeable!
