Now in its 10th year, Ibiza Rocks in 2015 boasted some awesome gigs including the likes of Years & Years, Sigma, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Fatboy Slim and Clean Bandit amongst others. Massive summer highlights include Ed Sheeran joining Rudimental onstage during their gig, and of course, who can forget Ibiza Rocks 10th Birthday with The Libertines? A night that will be forever etched in the memories of those who attended.

For their closing party on September 16th, The Courteeners were handed the duty of rocking the venue one last time before the season ended, and they duly obliged! The Yorkshire indie band have a strong following, and the night was packed out as the band played their biggest anthems all night long, it was a big sing a long party.

They played the likes of Bide Your Time, Sycophant – which brilliant lyrics include – “we are judged on every single thing we do, I could not give one, cos we are us not you,” Take Over The World, Small Bones, Next Time You Call, Not Nineteen Forever and What Took You So Long?

They’re a band on top of their game, whose tracks are anthemic and boast the likes of Noel Gallagher and Morrissey as fans, who said after seeing them live, “every song was very strong and full of hooks and full of dynamics and I thought, ‘this is great’ and that so many groups in the UK, they’re hyped and they’re huge and they’re all over the press and they don’t really actually have any songs, they don’t really have anything to offer … but it’s different with the Courteeners, they actually do have very good, strong songs.” We couldn’t put it any better than that! Tonight for the Ibiza Rocks closing party 2015 they brought those songs and tore the house down!

Tonight was the first time we’ve seen The Courteeners live and they’re already one of our favourite bands. The same can be said for other bands we’ve seen at Ibiza Rocks and that’s thanks to their brilliant booking team who have their fingers truly on the UK music scene pulse. It’s been another strong year for Ibiza Rocks, and their new events on Mondays at Ibiza Rocks Bar on the beachfront in San Antonio give up and coming bands a chance to shine. The gigs in the hotel in 2015 have been brilliant – we love the open air venue, festival atmosphere, and a great crowd always ready for a good old sing along. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for next year already, here’s to 2016 at Ibiza Rocks!
