The anticipation in Ibiza (and clubland in general) for Hï Ibiza’s opening was huge. Space was a club that many people loved, and all eyes were focused on how Yann Pissenem and his Ushuaïa team could do its former venue justice. Space was great – rustic, brilliant character and held amazing memories for anybody who ever stepped foot inside the club.

Ushuaïa is our favourite venue in the world – the setting and brilliant production are second to none. Put that into a nightclub setting and you have one of the most modern venues in the world – we already love Hï Ibiza; it has great lights, lasers, sounds, visuals and crowd.

Outside, gone is the car park and replaced by seating and walking areas, like you’d find in any modern European city centre;

In the club itself there’s great lights, lasers and sound. The Theatre room is the main room and boasts great visuals on cinematic large screen behind the stage/DJ booth. VIP booths are either side of the dancefloor, but the VIPs feel like they’re a part of the main dancefloor. There was no sitting down in the VIP – everyone on their feet and dancing away pointed directly to the DJ. The Club room offers clubbers another space to get their groove on.

When we enter the Theatre room, Mathias Tanzmann has the crowd rocking to Dennis Ferrer’s Checkmate The King – a prediction of ours for one of the big Ibiza tracks of 2017 back in April. Next up was one of Uneek Ibiza’s faves, Kolsch, who was playing driving tech house and techno. Check out some footage of his set here below;

Hï Ibiza rocked on opening night. For the rest of the season they have impressive line ups (Eric Prydz’s first ever Ibiza solo residency, Armin Van Buuren and In The Dark to name a few), we are buzzing for this new era on the island.
