It was Wednesday 30th May and I had just landed back in the UK after an amazing time attending IMS Ibiza. It was 6pm, the weather wasn’t great and my mum and dad collected me from the airport. As we shared a mid week chippy tea, I told them about my adventures on the white island, all of the amazing people I’d met and the things I’d done, when it dawned on me that the weekend was fast approaching and that my closest tribe were all going to be heading away.

I remembered dancing in Pacha a week earlier, and a lovely lady telling me about the Glitterbox event and how much she thought I would enjoy it. I messaged Andrew and told him and he said that our mate James had invited us to the opening party on Friday. That was it, the universe had spoken! I got straight onto the Easy Jet app and booked myself on the 9pm flight straight out of Gatwick back to Ibiza.

Arriving back on the island the vibe was great as my mates and I parked up opposite Jet in Playa d’en Bossa and made our way to Hi Ibiza fo Glitterbox’s opening party 2018. We arrived around 1.30am just as the atmosphere was really starting to build into a proper disco inferno.

We started outside amongst the red Indian wigwams before meandering inside to see the beautiful dancers giving it large to a Prince track. Over in the Theatre room, there were glitter balls a plenty and spinning disco lights flashing in time to the tunes.

The opening party line up saw Basement Jaxx, Roger Sanchez, Purple Disco Machine and a live PA from Barbara Tucker in the club’s Theatre, Dimitri From Paris, Aeroplane and Melvo Baptiste in the Club, as well as the Savage DJs Jonjo Jury and Joshua James alongside John Morales in the Wild Corner. The stars of the show, Glitterbox performers Lucy Fizz, Raven Mandella, Joan Oh, Kalypso Bang were also out in force bringing the Glitterbox phenomenon to life.

With its extravagant production, flamboyant performers, and dancefloor hedonism Glitterbox has become Ibiza’s most talked-about party and attracted 5,000 revellers for the launch.

Returning to its home at Hï Ibiza this summer, the Friday night residency will host acts including Armand Van Helden, Groove Armada, DJ Harvey, Greg Wilson, Honey Dijon, Horse Meat Disco, Nightmares On Wax, Derrick Carter, Kenny Dope and many more.
