Having attended only a few days previously Elrow’s event at Ushuaïa in Ibiza, we were well and truly in full Elrow mode. One of the big highlights of our summer for the past 2 years has been attending Elrow Barcelona during Sónar weekend – so much so that for the past 2 years we have also given the event the accolade of Uneek Ibiza’s Event Of The Year. Elrow’s original home is quite simply one of the best venue’s we’ve ever visited, and is as close to anywhere you’ll find that has that Space Ibiza terrace vibe from yesteryear, with it’s own brilliant and bonkers personality thrown in for good measure. So we were delighted to again be checking out the party before our flight back to the island on the Sunday of Sónar weekend.

Elrow’s Barcelona home Row 14 is ideally located close to Barcelona’s El Prat airport, perfect to check out the party for a few hours before the short plane ride back to the island. Today’s line up included around 50 DJs and about 5 rooms (inside and outside) spaces of music. We arrived at peak time, around 5pm, with the party in full swing. It was busy with people dressed in their most colourful outfits, all up for the party with a smile on their face. It was a great atmosphere. So packed was it, we couldn’t quite see who was DJing, until we heard the track “Hanging Tree” – one of the big tracks of the Ibiza season so far, and this point we knew Michael Bibi was on the decks, so we headed towards the front for a better view. Michael Bibi’s story is that of an Ibiza clubber turned DJ who’s now playing at clubs and festivals all over the world, and we’d been following his career the past year or so. We were delighted to see him rock a club where the 2 previous years we’ve seen Kölsch play the same time slot.

Brilliant production, visuals, artwork, confetti, colours, performers and DJs – Elrow at Row 14 during Sónar weekend is a must on any clubber’s summer diary! See you again next year.
