After attending and reviewing the final party of the Ibiza 2015 season (Solomun @ Pacha on October 11) we arrived in Amsterdam on October 13 for a few days to take in the world famous Amsterdam Dance Event. This year’s ADE offering was the 20th conference and festival set in this beautiful city, and we had a brilliant few days.
Taken from its website, “The ADE Festival features 300 events and 2,000 DJ’s over five days in 80 clubs and venues, which together combine to make Amsterdam one of the busiest and most inspiring clubbing cities in the world. The program features the biggest artists on the planet alongside fresh, upcoming talent and everything in between. Every year the ADE Festival attracts 350,000 festival visitors from around the globe and is truly the biggest international club festival covering the whole spectrum of electronic sub-genres.”

First things first though, and as football fans we had a big game to attend! The Netherlands were playing Czech Republic in a Euro 2016 qualifier, a game which The Netherlands needed to win. Held at the Amsterdam Arena on Tuesday 13th October the night before ADE was due to start, we donned our Dutch scarves and sat in the home end. Unfortunately for the Dutch fans Czech Replublic won 3-2 and knocked them out, but it was a great match and the home support was brilliant right until the end.

We had scheduled some meetings at the daytime conference at ADE which were held in various city centre establishments and hotels, were we met many music industry workers and some friends also. We had a great meeting with Ticketmaster, with whom we will have a partnership on the site where we will be offering Ibiza club tickets in 2016. We enjoyed the general buzz and busyness of the daytime conference and meetings in central Amsterdam around the various canals.

It was on one of these canals that Armin van Buuren hosted an album launch for his new album Embrace, complete with tracks booming from nearby Armada cars.

Also nearby were the Ants guys, fresh from an excellent summer in Ibiza at Ushuaia weekly on Saturdays. This was one of the best nights on the island this summer, and they were in town to promote their Antsterdam event at ADE.

From the conference in the daytimes to the parties at the festival at night time, and we attended some great parties, including Hardwell’s Revealed party at the Heineken Music Hall as well as an ADE party at Panama.
Hardwell’s Revealed event provided a great party in a top venue to a sell out 5,500 crowd complete with big room tunes and a hands in the air buzzing atmosphere with some of the world’s finest DJs! Read our full review of the event here!

Over at Panama, James Zabiela provided a technical master class where he absolutely smashed the joint! It was one of the best DJ sets we’ve seen in ages and an awesome way to kick off ADE 2015 at one of the city’s best clubs. Read our full review of the event here!

Check out all of our videos from ADE 2015 at our facebook page here! All in all, we had a brilliant few days at ADE 2015 in one of Europe’s best cosmopolitan cities. We enjoyed the vibe, food, people, canals, trams, bicycles, atmosphere and music and would definitely recommend to any music lovers who’ve never attended before to attend next year. We can’t wait for ADE 2016, see you there!
