We arrived at a busy Ushuaia in time for the main man Armin Van Buuren to take to the decks at his A State Of Trance closing party.
He started on Kernkraft 400 – Zombie nation (W&W remix) and said on the microphone, “Ushuaia are you ready to make some noise with me tonight?” They were. It was a loud and vociferous crowd. Next he played Armin van Buuren feat. Cindy Alma – Beautiful Life and Cosmic Gate & Orjan Nilsen – Fair Game, before again engaging the crowd – “beautiful crowd of Ushuaia you’re witnessing a very special night, are you ready to go harder and faster with us?!”
Next up was John Legend – All of Me (Dash Berlin Rework) and Ushuaia absolutely bounced. It went off big time. Idina Menzel – Let It Go (Armin van Buuren Remix), Coldplay – A Sky Full Of Stars (Hardwell Remix) and Gaia – Empire Of Hearts – the crowd were lapping up each and every track Armin played.
A State Of Trance and Ushuaia are perfect partners. Ushuaia is 21st century outside clubbing at its absolute finest. Set in beautiful surroundings, a hands in the air unbeatable atmosphere, lasers, fire, lights, airplanes flying in overhead, cold air cannons, a massive cinematic screen pumping out visuals. This is a massive production event.
There were more anthems to come. He dropped the likes of Passenger – Let Her Go (Armin Van Buuren Rework), Gareth Emery feat. Bo Bruce – U (Bryan Kearney Remix) and John Lennon – Imagine (Armin van Buuren Rebooted Edit), all of which provided massive singalong moments.
Armin then said a thank you speech to his team and played his two big tracks from this and last summer respectively, Ping Pong and This Is What It Feels Like, sending the crowd home with massive smiles on their faces.
There’s a quote in the September issue of Pacha magazine from The Streets’ Mike Skinner, who says, “The spirit of rock ‘n’ roll is being kept alive by DJs now,” and none more so than modern day rockstar Armin Van Buuren, with his God like arms out in the air pose. Tonight Armin and A State Of Trance put on a great closing party, he is the perfect showman. We can’t wait for ASOT 2015 at Ushuaia – a trance lovers’ paradise!
