Cream Ibiza’s 21st Birthday at Amnesia boasted a strong line up full of heavyweight DJ talent, in the likes of Paul Van Dyk in the main room, and Eric Prydz and Sasha on the Terrace. We arrived just before 3am to see Sasha playing to a full crowd a set of progressive tech, the crowd eagerly awaiting the introduction of Prydz.
Prydz started on a track that simply repeated the words, ‘house music’ over and over. It was simple yet hypnotic and built and built until a crescendo that sent the thousands in attendance into raptures. It was a grand start. Next there were the likes of Takuma Iwakawa – Grows Slowly, the brilliant Pryda – Rotonda, Pryda – Rebel XX, a remix of Ibiza classic KOT – Finally and his massive track Generate. Prydz is playing at Cream for the next 3 weeks at Cream Ibiza, if you’re on the island in the next 3 weeks be sure to check him out.

Across in the main room, Cream legend Paul Van Dyk was delivering a set of both new tracks and classics. The likes of Ocean Lab – Satellite (Original Above & Beyond), Mo Foster – Trade Winds and Young Parisians – Jump The Next Train all got an airing, but the highlight of the night was PVD playing his anthem For An Angel live on keyboard.
Tonight at Amnesia was rammed, with a great atmosphere, hands in the air crowd going wild to some brilliant DJ sets from some of the best in the industry. Cream Ibiza is Ibiza’s longest running weekly party, and it’s easy to see why. Happy 21st Cream Ibiza!
