It’s a beautiful clear blue day in early September, and we’re on our way to the mystical island of Es Vedra. Es Vedra is an uninhabited island (apart from wild goats, lizards and falcons) located just off the Southwest coast of Ibiza, and is famed for its various myths and legends.

We decide to reach the island by boat cruise from nearby San Antonio. Costing 24 euros, this 3 hour glass bottom boat trip comprises of a trip to Es Vedra, as well as the bays and beaches located nearby.

Upon reaching Es Vedra, the first thing that strikes us is the sheer size and beauty of the island up close. It’s large and impressive. Standing 400 metres high, it is said to be the third most magnetic spot on the planet (after the north pole and Bermuda Triangle). It is well known for giving its visitors a positive healing and energy, and of course its famous stories, including the likes of various UFO sightings, and parts of the island being used to build the Egyptian pyramids!

After leaving Es Vedra, our boat dropped anchor at Cala d’Hort to allow us to swim in its lovely blue waters, before continuing past the gorgeous beaches of Cala Moli, Cala Vedella, Cala Carbo, Cala Bassa and Cala Conta and their nearby houses on the rocks, which are home to the rich and famous. The journey was completed with a return to San Antonio with some great chilled tunes, washed down a glass or 2 of champagne!

It was one of the best afternoons we’ve ever spent on the White Isle, we definitely recommend a trip to Es Vedra!

Check out our friend Tiernan O’Neill’s track ‘A Night At Es Vedra’ below, which has just recently been released (complete with various remixes) on Endemic Digital. A beautiful piece of progressive house/trance, completely in setting with the magical island of Es Vedra!
